It seems to me sad, but true that if you want to play in the big leagues, to really make a difference in the world, you have to work in organizations that have subcultures of competition, non-recognition, and often a misuse of authority.
You can leave and tend your own garden in smaller, healthier groups and institutions, but you give up a certain possibility.
Which is better? I don't know. I've done both. In the end, I suppose I vote for being places where you're loved and appreciated....I guess.
