Now, I've spent my life empathizing with people, those I treat and those who oppose us politically. But yesterday I was watching the "town hall" meeting where an older woman was talking to McCain, saying, first, "I don't trust Obama.."--and McCain is nodding--and then she goes on "...because he's an Arab!" -- and McCain starts shaking his head. The woman says, "he's not?" And McCain says No.
Now, I know tha many people in our society are ignorant, uneducated, and gripped with the fear-based prejudices that so often lie at the heart of right-wing, racist, attitudes.
But, really--what the fuck is this old bag thinking? What's it like to be inside her head? Even scumbag rabble-rousers like O'Reilly and big fat idiots like Limbaugh don't literally say "Obama is an Arab." So, I ask again--what is it really like to be inside the skin of this frightened old racist biddy? I don't think that I can really say--can you?
